About Head Coach Nan Gorton
Nan has enjoyed a long career in competitive athletics, playing soccer, ice hockey and lacrosse in college (Bowdoin College and Brown University ‘96, respectively). After graduating, Nan trained with the US Women’s Ice Hockey team prior to the 1998 Nagano Olympics. She has coached athletes of all different ages and levels in a variety of sports, including high school soccer and lacrosse at Buckingham Browne & Nichols (BB&N) School in Cambridge, MA. Nan is certified by the National Strength and Conditioning Association as a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist, as well as through USA Weightlifting. Her goal with this program is to help players achieve their athletic goals, within the game of lacrosse and beyond.
For 39 years, Nan has been an athlete in the local community as a player, parent, and coach. In addition to her role as a personal trainer at the Manchester Athletic Club (MAC), she established an endurance training business called HillTop Training, which offers the much-loved RunFit program through the MAC. Because of her passion for helping younger community members, Nan also founded North Shore Sports Performance Institute (NSSPI) to help school-age athletes believe in themselves and grow toward their athletic goals.
